Unicorn and Pegasus Ponies
For little girls who believe in magic, a special little unicorn or little pegasus pony with long, silky hair to brush and braid.
This year was the year when Hasbro first introduced the My Little Pony Unicorn and Pegasus, Sunbeam, Twilight, Glory, Moondancer, Firefly and Medley. These six ponies brought the more mythological aspect of My Little Pony. Unicorns have a single spiral horn in the center of their foreheads, while pegasi have a pair of small, bird-like wings on their backs. While all previous ponies were printed with painted symbols, these ponies were given glittery symbols. The downside of this was that the glitter could easily be rubbed off. A unique feature of the unicorns and most unicorns that followed, is that they have an extra streak of a different color hair in their manes. Each pony came with a star brush, a ribbon, and a puffy sticker.
Pegasi's molded wings made it difficult for them to wear most Pony Wear. The pose Year 2's pegasi were made in was not used again very often, as their bent front leg made also made it impossible for them wear the four shoes that came with most outfits.
There is a yellow Moondancer who was sold in Scandinavian and a few other European countries. She's very similar to the US Moondancer, the only difference is the yellow body color. However, rumours of a yellow glory are all false.
Again, all these 6 ponies have multiple foreign counterparts, especially in Greece.
